Since 1984 we have grazed our mature sheep out on pasture 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during the grazing season, which runs from mid-April to mid-December in our area. There are coyotes, black bears and occasional timber wolves and cougars in our area of southern Ontario. Grazing in the way we do is made possible by the use of Great Pyrenees guard dogs and Gallagher High Tensile High Power Electric Fencing. Our farm has the longest history of consistently using the Gallagher's insultimber fencing system to rotationally graze and protect our sheep.

We are also using a Llama that lives with the main ewe flock. This helps as a last line of defense against the predators.

Predator control must be taken very seriously as the sheep will breed and conceive much better if they are not under constant harassment and worry.
